Isadora Carreras is a fundraising expert with more than a decade of experience in development. Her expertise includes major gifts, institutional giving, capital campaign management, direct mail, volunteer management, and special events.
Prior to joining Onward, Isadora was a fundraising officer for WITNESS, Inc., a human rights video advocacy nonprofit in New York, where she helped design and launch a major gift program cultivating six-figure gifts and a giving circle pipeline for mid-level donors. Before that, Isadora was director of external relations at Higher Achievement in Washington, DC, a rigorous out-of-school academic program for talented at-risk youth. She was part of the original team that reorganized the organization, taking it from a $400,000 program to a five million dollar leading national organization. At Higher Achievement, Isadora was a soup-to-nuts development professional, writing grants, executing events, conducting direct mail marketing, and building a major givers program and pipeline.
Isadora has a master’s degree in child and family studies and gifted education from the University of Denver, along with over 12 years experience in teaching and mentoring. Isadora is a native of Costa Rica, fluent in English and Spanish, and proficient in Portuguese. She currently serves as a co-chair for the Children’s Book Committee at the Bank Street College of Education.
Isadora’s practice includes fundraising strategy, talent search and development, major giver campaigns, database management, and direct mail marketing.
